Message from our Camp Director
Tammy Nucci, Camp Director
RECE, MA Lead
Camp 2019 is just around the corner and we are so excited about all the things we have planned!
Upper Canada Child Care (UCCC) has a long and strong history providing day camps in the GTA for more than 30 years. However, we are not only relying on our experience; we are continually seeking ways to improve the camp experience for our clients.
A cornerstone of our day camp experience is our day trips. Once or twice a week, we pile onto a school bus, sing camps songs until we are hoarse and have a great day exploring a variety of venues. We could be having a scavenger hunt at Petticoat Creek Conservation Area, experiencing an adventure at Tree Top Trekking, or having a splashing good time at Wet ’n’ Wild water park. We foster a sense of belonging as we experience these venues as a team. We build self-esteem as we push ourselves outside our comfort zones trying new things and interacting with nature. We are so excited to take our campers on these fun trips.
The fun doesn’t stop there. We value getting outside to play. Outdoors, our voices can be loud, our movements can be big and our imaginations can soar. Games, sports, water-play, and investigating local parks and trails are favourite activities.
Finding a balance between planned activities and providing time for the children to unwind and pursue their own interests is of key importance. Part of that balance is strong leadership and we have developed a new training program this spring to further strengthen our experienced camp leads. The expertise provided by certified staff in the area of child development, can make a good camp experience even better!
Thank you for your interest in camp at Upper Canada Child Care. Together we can make 2019 the greatest summer adventure!

Kettleby Valley Residential Camp and Outdoor Education
The small group Residential Camp ensures that each child receives individual attention and care. Campfires, night hikes, skits, stories and many other traditional events make the camper's experience one to remember for many years.
The Canoe Tripping program provides an enriched experience for older campers, furthering their skills in group problem-solving and decision-making.
The Leader-in-Training program gives campers opportunities to learn the skills necessary to lead games, instruct activities and become great Counsellors.
The Outdoor Centre offers educational programs for schools, corporations and other organized groups from September through June.
